​Katherine is our newest instructor at Havill Golf. She is the Bainbridge High School Girls Varsity Golf Coach, bringing a wealth of experience to her students. A five-time champion at Wing Point Golf and Country Club, she combines her competitive edge with a passion for teaching. Katherine's diverse coaching background includes lacrosse and tennis, allowing her to draw on a range of athletic skills and strategies. Before dedicating herself to golf, she was a personal trainer, giving her a unique perspective on fitness and technique. Regularly participating in regional golf tournaments, Katherine stays sharp and current with the sport. Her tailored instruction focuses on building confidence, improving skills, and fostering a love for the game, making her an ideal choice for golfers of all levels looking to elevate their game.

Ian Havill  PGA  Owner, Director of Instruction

A golf professional since 2003, Ian has instructed students in a variety of settings around the country including ESPN Golf Schools, public driving ranges, and now as the owner of Havill Golf. A passionate golfer and instructor, Ian has worked in the recreation and outdoor education industry for over 30 years.

Ian also served as a public school special education teacher and coach in Minnesota and on Bainbridge. He specialized in developing innovative teaching strategies for students with special needs. Using golf as a tool to help his students improve their confidence, build social skills, and respect others, Ian spent seven years integrating golf into his school curriculum, coaching the golf team, and working with The First Tee of America.

Ian is the former coach of the Bainbridge Girls Varsity golf team which has competed at a high level. The Spartans have won multiple Metro League Championship  and Olympic league titles.  Go Spartans!

Ian is also founder of Go Girl Golf, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting the game of golf among girls, with a particular focus on underserved populations. A portion of Havill Golf sales go to support this unique and important organization.

Ian particularly enjoys working with people of all ability levels.  Anyone whose has an interest and a willingness to learn and improve their golf skills and enjoyment of the game is welcome! Ian lives on Bainbridge Island with his wife Sara.  Ian and Sara have two daughters Kiera and Kendall. (both pretty good golfers!)
