A huge thanks to Ian Havill and his team at Havill golf, for getting our 10 year old son Lucas introduced to golf. The instruction is wonderful and geared toward the junior player, they make it fun for the kids, and the cost is very reasonable. Our son Lucas has really developed an interest for the game and we couldn’t be happier about the experience.

As a long-time hack finally committed to investing some time in my golf game, I enjoyed playing more rounds last year - and especially enjoyed playing with my 10-year old daughter.  Without any personal store of golfing wisdom, I was only able to pass on words of encouragement.  This winter and spring, Ian's coaching has filled that gap for my daughter Charley.  Ian is not only a capable golfer, but a gifted teacher.  He is able to identify and prioritize opportunities for swing improvement, and then to communicate actionable approaches to realizing that improvement.  The "fun factor" in our golf outings has increased significantly this year as Charley's shot quality has improved.  And so has mine.  It turns out Ian is pretty good with "big kids" too.

A valuable asset to any youth program is the ability to make a connection to the students. Ian Havill has an exceptional way of communicating with juniors, which makes them feel comfortable, confident, and appreciated. 

My son expressed an interest in golf at an early age (5). We got very lucky when we found Ian. He knew how to talk and motivate someone my son’s age. He was very patient, humorous, and very generous with his time. Beyond pure technical instruction, Ian teaches the enjoyment and sportsmanship of the game.

Our 3rd grade son took the parks fall golf lesson from Ian Havill and loved it.  Ian was not only great with imparting knowledge on how to play golf but also was great at making it fun for the kids.  Our son had such a great time we ended up not only doing his birthday party there (the space mini-golf program was a hit!) but we also got our son private lessons with Ian that we're using this summer.  We're so lucky to have Ian here on the island.
